Your Faith in God

“Substance of things hoped for and evidence of things not seen”

I believe that a Christian cannot be cursed — this belief stems from my complete faith in the Living God and the Rhema Word as written in the scriptures.

If I asked the question what is faith? You’ll most probably answer that; “Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen” — Yes it’s true of the definition above according to Hebrews 11:1. If asked to define “substance” and “evidence” many people will be lost, especially if you are scientifically inclined.

The phrase substance of things hoped for and evidence of things not seen culminates in the fact that faith is “trust in God”. Belief however is different from faith. I can believe in something, yet do not have faith in it. Many Christians believe in God but lack faith in God. A Christians who is afraid of an idol, believes in God but do not have faith in God; to have faith in God is to trust what God has said whenever and wherever you face an idol, (Isaiah 44:9-11 & Psalms 115:2 — “All who make idols are nothing, the things they treasure are worthless. Those who will speak for them are blind, they are ignorant, to their own shame…………they will be brought down to terror and shame” (Isaiah: 44 9-11).

“Why do nations say where is their God?”…..their gods are silver and gold, made by the human hands. They have mouth but cannot speak, eyes they cannot see. They have ears they cannot hear, noses but cannot smell……those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them” (Psalms: 115:2-8)

Having faith in God means that you have trust in what God says in His Word and that it is exactly as He has said it without any doubt debate or philosophy. The Bible tells us in Hebrews 11:6 “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him”. Many Christians today are not able to please God in their daily lives because they lack the substance to please Him which has it’s root in faith and ultimately in God.

You can never have faith without belief.

Romans: 10:17 confirms that faith comes by hearing the Word of God (Christ). In other words faith comes by information through the message of God. Faith is therefore the vehicle to execute belief. You can be limited only to belief and not be able to operate in faith. Many Christians don’t have accurate and proper information about God, and that is why no matter what and how much you tell them about what God can and will do they do not and cannot understand.

Prayer: Lord open up my spirit and illuminate my heart and mind to the knowledge of Your ways and Your will. Help me to take every thought captive to obey You in all total belief and let my faith grow and rise in God daily in Jesus name.

Set Free To Serve – Part 5

The book of Romans tells us in chapter 8:28, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”

God said you will flourish like a palm tree and grow like the cedar of Lebanon.

We have already discussed importance of the palm tree. The cedar of Lebanon is such a choice tree that it is never touched when trees are to be felled. Cedar trees are distinct amongst other trees, they are huge and very expensive, and they have rich seeds. They are not the kind of trees that are toyed with. Cedars are found in the house of very rich people.

God makes this comparisons using words like these because He is the all-knowing.

David was not aware of this fact when he wrote this in Psalm 92:12 but God, in his all-knowing capacity has the full knowledge and understanding of what He inspired David to write. God is saying to us who follow and serve Him diligently that we cannot fail. We are destined for greatness according to the eternal plan of God for His people. For you to flourish like the palm tree and grow like the cedar of Lebanon, you must be planted in the house of God as written in Psalm 92:13.

You cannot deny God just because of offenses.

Being in the house of God at the required time is a subset of being planted in the house of God. A homeless person will always feel the effect (suffering) come rain or shine because he has nowhere to hide himself. God has ordained His family and has given shelter to each family and a definition to every home.
The reward of being planted in the house of God is found in Psalm 92:13-15, they will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, proclaiming, “The Lord is upright; He is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in Him.”

He says they will still bear fruits in their old age – fruit of the body, spiritual fruit and financial fruit meaning they will never lack throughout their entire life. God also says they will stay green and remain fresh. Green here proclaims the uprightness of God which is the reason the promises of God will come to pass over our lives.

Prayer: My prayer is that God the Father will distinct and distinguish me among many and let His favour be upon me wherever I go in this world Mighty Jehovah in Jesus’ mighty name.

Be Filled With the Spirit

“Be Filled With the Spirit and be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;” (Ephesian 5:18)

The Holy Spirit helps our infirmities:

Romans 8:26 – “Likewise the Spirit also help our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself make intercession for us with groaning which cannot be uttered.”

The Holy Spirit Guides us into ALL truth:

John 16:13 – “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.”

The Holy Spirit comforts:

John 14:16 – “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever.”

The Holy spirit teaches:

John 14:26 – “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”

The fruit of the Spirit:
Galatians 5:22 – “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith.”

The Holy Spirit empowers you to witness:

Acts 1:8 – “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

The Holy Spirit makes you an overcomer:

1 John 4:4 – “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”

New wine must be put in new bottles:

Matthew 9:17 – “Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine run out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.” (Also see Mark 2:22; Luke 5:37-38).

Prayer: I pray in the mighty name of Jesus that there will be an emptying of the old wine in you and that God will fill you with new wine (Holy Spirit). The Lord God will sanctify you holy and make you vessels of honour meet for His use in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Speak life over your situation all the time!

“The Law of the spirit of life does not work automatically. It must be activated.”

What are your first words when you face any form of affliction? Your first words in the face of affliction are extremely important and decisive of what happens next. The words you speak license spiritual laws to go into operation for or against you expressly. They either allow sin and death to take over or they activate the Spirit of Christ Jesus.

The moment those words come out of your mouth, one of the above laws is set in motion. Unless you do something to stop it, it will continue to function, growing stronger and stronger until it accomplishes a pre-designed outcome or result.

Thank God, as born-again believers, we’re in Him and as Romans 8:2 says “…because through Christ Jesus the law of Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death” Since life and death are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21) – speak life over your situation all the time!

Prayer: Father, as a believer, direct me by Your Spirit to the place You have prepared for me. Open my eyes Lord to see the way that is right before You and guide the words that come out of my mouth in Jesus name.
