The Holy Spirit

The Bible says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son…..”

Once we accepted this love and Gift of God (Jesus Christ) — the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in us (John 7:37-38) and takes His place. Thus, the Bible says, our bodies are the temple of the Lord (1 Cor 6:19-20) and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit helps to manifest in the various gifts that God gave to us (1 Cor 12:1-7).

light, sunAbout the gifts of the Spirit, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed:

There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service but the same Lord, There are different kinds of working but in all of them and in everyone is the same God at work. Now to each one the manifestation of the Holt spirit is given for the common good — to one is given a message of wisdom — to another a message of knowledge, faith, healing, miraculous powers, prophecy — distinguishing to another Spirit — speaking in tongues — interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of the same Spirit, and He distributes them to each, just as He determines.

To experience these gifts, we must present our bodies daily, as a living sacrifice, Holy and acceptable to Him.

The gifts of the Holy Spirit are given for the common good of others, i.e. to serve others, therefore, for anyone to have a continuous manifestation of the Holy Spirit he must be available to serve, beginning from the household of faith.

Are you for noble or ignoble purposes?

Daily or weekly church attendance does not make one a Christian — Christians who want to go to heaven must attend church regularly but must also do within their strength (spiritual, physical, mental and financial effort) to the advancement of the Kingdom of God. Remember you receive the Holy Spirit when you get converted into Christianity, so to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8, Acts 2:1-4) which culminates with the various gifts in th 1 Corinthians 12 you must :

1) Have faith that God is willing and able to give His Holy Spirit to you.
2) Earnestly desire these gifts or a specific gift.
3) Pray fervently (James 5:16)

Finally having received the Holy Spirit and HIS gifts, read  1Cor: 13 thoroughly and this will help to appropriate the gifts of the Holy Spirit in you.

Prayer; Lord help me to daily activate Your Holy Spirit to be strengthened in my inner man so that it will activate the gifting of the Holy Spirit you have given for the enhancement of the Kingdom of God within me. Holy Spirit thank you for teaching me your ways in Jesus name.

Set Free To Serve – Part 7

“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise” (Proverbs 11:30).

The banyan tree which grows in the tropics which has height, spread, and thickness of trunk make it a glorious tree in terms of shade and beauty. Its branches reach out and down to the ground. Whenever the tips of the branches touch the earth, it takes root and a new tree begins to grow.

Is your life spreading and multiplying itself in the lives of others—like the banyan? Are you sharing the love of God with friends, family members, and co-workers? God has given the Great Commission to make Him known—to bring men, women, and children to a saving knowledge of Him. Jesus brings healing, forgiveness, and deliverance. His acceptance is unconditional.

Jesus told the disciples, “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener” (John 15:1). Without abiding in Christ, you cannot be fruitful. Jesus says, “No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me” (John 15:4).

You must abide in Christ. You become one with Christ when you seek and follow His purpose for Your life—adopting His perspective as your own. Are you abiding in Christ today?

Dr Michael Youssef

Prayer: Lord, please forgive me for the times when I have not remained in You—forging my own way rather than abiding in You, bearing fruit for You. Thank You for Your forgiveness and for Your guidance. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Set Free To Serve

The Samaritan woman at the well did not remain the same when she heard and met with the Truth but was “set free to serve”, especially in the area of soul winning.

It is recorded in John 4:39-41 that; “Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in Him because of the woman’s testimony, He told me everything I ever did”…….and because of those words many became believers.

Mary Magdalene, from whom seven demons came out, and the other women in Luke 8:1-3 who were cured of evil spirits and diseases, were not set free just to be onlookers and stagnant in Jesus’s ministry but to serve Him. All these people knew they were saved to serve and delighted themselves to support and serve the ministry. God took them from their daily provision to abundant blessing, removing devourers for their sakes (Malachi 3:11). They had more than enough to support God’s work and followed Him wherever He went.

In following Jesus, we must watch our speech, disconnect ourselves from the way of sinners and delight ourselves in the Word – The truth will set us free, to be blessed and be a blessing.

We are also set free to know the truth about marriage. Always remember that if you have a happy marriage you will make a good home and reproduce good children – “A happy Hen lays good eggs”. What role are you playing in Jesus’ ministry today? Is your role thriving or stagnated? Do you neglect the purpose for which you have been called?

Prayer: Lord fill me with Your Holy Spirit so that I can manifest according to Your plan and purpose for my life. Help me to manifest Christ Jesus in all my ways and deeds. Make me a vessel of honour in Jesus name.

WHEN WILL YOU REPENT?

At the very last moment the thief that was beside Jesus cried out to Him in repentance. He humbled himself and acknowledged his guilt in sheer contrast to Jesus’ innocence. He pleaded to be part of Jesus’ Kingdom and was granted a spot in paradise with Jesus!

Luke 23:42-43; Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom. Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.” It just shows you that it is never too late to repent. The bible says that all who come to Jesus, he will in no wise cast out (John 6:37).

God says in 2 Chronicles that “If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

I receive for you from God’s throne of grace a repentant heart in the mighty name of Jesus.

The prayer this thief prayed beside Jesus made him to make heaven! Brethren, contrary to the lie of the devil, it is NEVER too late to repent. The road to hell fire is very wide while the road to eternal life is straight and narrow. We all need the special grace of God to stay on the straight and narrow.

You may currently be as sheep going astray; NOW is the time to return to the Shepherd and Bishop of your soul (1 Peter 2:25). Now is the time to return to your first love. I hope and pray that like Paul, you will press on toward the mark of a high calling of God in Christ Jesus (Phil. 3:14).

Prayer: Lord anything that stands in the way of my salvation, take it out of my life. Make my path clear and my eyes seeing and looking to Your glorious inheritance.

Be Filled With the Spirit

“Be Filled With the Spirit and be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;” (Ephesian 5:18)

The Holy Spirit helps our infirmities:

Romans 8:26 – “Likewise the Spirit also help our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself make intercession for us with groaning which cannot be uttered.”

The Holy Spirit Guides us into ALL truth:

John 16:13 – “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.”

The Holy Spirit comforts:

John 14:16 – “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever.”

The Holy spirit teaches:

John 14:26 – “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”

The fruit of the Spirit:
Galatians 5:22 – “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith.”

The Holy Spirit empowers you to witness:

Acts 1:8 – “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

The Holy Spirit makes you an overcomer:

1 John 4:4 – “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”

New wine must be put in new bottles:

Matthew 9:17 – “Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine run out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.” (Also see Mark 2:22; Luke 5:37-38).

Prayer: I pray in the mighty name of Jesus that there will be an emptying of the old wine in you and that God will fill you with new wine (Holy Spirit). The Lord God will sanctify you holy and make you vessels of honour meet for His use in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Stay Wholly Blessed and have a Wonderful New Month!

God is a God of truth

Apostle Williams at John Wesley's ChurchGod is a God of truth: In fact the bible says it is impossible for Him to lie (Hebrews 6:18). He gives us His truth in every situation to apply to our thoughts. “and you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free” John 8:32. Therefore, if you’re not free, which lie of the devil are you believing in as truth in your life?

The bible says that the peace of God guards our minds. God protects us in this way because wrong thoughts are a breeding ground for satan’s lies, and there is no truth in satan according to John 8:44.

Therefore make your biggest personal goal this month to be to have a “Mind of Christ” in you.

Prayer: This year , my mind will not be moved by negative news but my mind will only be moved by the Word of God alone. My mind will be governed by the power of The Holy Spirit in Jesus name.

Amen.

Consider deeply the truth of God’s Word

We live our lives according to what our perception of what is true that is according to what we think is real. But if our perceptios are false and we fail to consider deeply the truth of God’s Word. We will be easily led astray by Satan’s counterfeits. Philippians 4:7 says that the peace of God guides our minds. God protects us this way as wrong thoughts are a breeding ground for Satan’s lies. As there is no truth in him. John 8:44

We are not immune to the Devil’s schemes Ephesians 6:11 in fact we must constantly be on our guard lest we are deceived just as Eve was by the serpent’s cunning and be led astray – 2 Cor 11:3.
Let the “Mind of Christ” be your greatest goal this year.

Prayer: Holy Spirit I surrender to Your leadership and tutelage this year. Direct me in all my aspirations and decisions, help me into all truths about my life this year in Jesus name.

Have a lovely day.
